How do you make friends at 40?

I've been pretty much a loner my whole life. I wanted friends but I have social anxiety disorder. It's gotten better through the years. I can make conversation it's just I don't know how to make a friend.

Easy, get out and go and do things. I have many friends now, more than I ever had. I went on vacation to Germany in July, and two of the much younger women in our party found me in a sidewalk restaurant and came and had coffee with me. Be a gentleman, be open to people, don't be aggressive with women, and they will warm up to you. Same with making men friends. To make friends, you have to BE a friend.
