It’s not bad that they’re aware of such things but it has gotten to a point where they feel they can use those labels/mental issues as an excuse to disrespect their elders or their parents. I get on social media or even Reddit and I constantly see post of people going on and on about how their parents traumatized them. Rather it be emotionally or physically but sometimes I can’t help but to believe that they may be being a bit over dramatic. Most childhoods and upbringings weren’t perfect and it’s true that our parents didn’t have the resources we have now to be aware of things such as narcissism, childhood trauma etc but unless your mother and father were sexually abusive, allowed you to be sexually abused or physically abusive to the point of hospitalization etc. I’m sure most of our upbringings weren’t that bad. Most of our parents were the age we are now. They were just figuring it out and trying. How we turned out to be is not 100% on them but with Gen Z being so aware of these new mental health things they are painting it to be that it is 100% on their parents when that is far from the truth.

We’re slowly becoming a species that is overly sensitive towards EVERYTHING.
Why? Because of the massive push to prevent bullying. I hate the be the one to say it, but I was bullied and bullying; believe it or not is actually good. The part that hardly happens though is the parents don’t help and tell their kid how to handle it
Mental health, Anxiety, ADHD, these are just "invented" illnesses, as you said.. we used to DEAL with them stuff that came along, now they are ALL so FRAGILE! Is crazy...🤦♂️
if thats true what they need is mental stability and fortitude
I agree. Some of the things I read on Reddit has made me believe Reddit is full of people trying to figure out who they are and therefore they lie or overdramatize things that happened in their life. Then it’s always the enablers in the comments telling them “It’s okay to feel how you feel.” When what they wrote had no clear meaning. I read one post about someone who said they “Think” they were SA’d by their father but they had no memory of it. So they came to the conclusion that they may have regressed the memory and it actually did happen but it was so traumatic that they forgot. To them and the commenters who were all “Most Sexual abuse victims have regressed memories.” It made sense but to me they just sound like they had mental issues and were beyond paranoid. I believe social media has influenced the dramatic talks/post about childhood trauma and narcissism.
