Not in so many words. But my parents kept their finances secret from me until I turned 18, and even after that they only shared a little. Is that what you meant?

My Dad had custody of me and he told me this maybe 2 times (separated years apart). The phrasing may have been slightly different, but that is what he was saying essentially.
