How do I deal with my nightmare sister?

How do I deal with my nightmare sister coming back home for Christmas? She’s constantly having temper tantrums, going through my clothes and threatening to take them to a charity shop, using my expensive things without asking and the worst part is not being able to have a normal conversation with her without her constant flurry of insults at me, insulting my intelligence, calling me lazy etc. I can’t deal with it. And her entitlement… then she seems happy again when she’s put me down.

Difficult situation, and no real solution, the more, as I understood, you live in your parents' house. I only see two options:

- 1) You face her and tell her, firmly straight in the face, but calmly and politely, to stop being a pain in the ass, keep her manners and stop being insulting.

- 2) Or get yourself invited somewhere else, at a good friends' place, or friendly family member.

Lock your door, buy a cheap chinese security cam and threaten to call the cops if she dares to break into your room and grab your things. As for the verbal abuse just ignore her. Let her insults pass, just treat her as if she is mentally challenged (even if she's not). Once she realizes she isn't getting under your skin she should stop acting like a spoiled brat
