Who knows... I was given a fake name by my mother... and then another fake name by my great grandparents that raised me. I never even knew my real name until I was close to being 18 years of age. I'm about to change my last name to my wife's last name... that's how bad it is. I guess by real name I'd be named Goebles. I just went by so many fake names my entire life that even my birth cert isn't even real. I'm not even German by the way (DNA test proven), so I have no idea where the "real name" comes from really. I thought for a second it was because I came from Hitler's propaganda hand... nope. Probably some boring ass reason that nobody really gives a fuck about.

I'm named after what my mom always wanted her name to be lol Her name is Betsy but she's always hated it. When she was introduced by my dad to one of his friends, my dad's friend thought her name was Becky and always called her Becky and my mom grew to really like the name.

@DrPepper12 Becky is the name on my birth certificate. I had a neighbor that always called me Rebecca because he knew I hated it! No offense to all the Rebecca's in the world but to me, it's an old ladies name lol

No one actually. I once asked my parents and they said they named me after a song but the nurse misspelled it and bla bla..
But I'm sure it's not true. I am named after anyone

Japanese make a million different names just by changing a vowel or two. It's amazing how many names they have with the same 2-3 consonants.

Nobody that I know of. I don't know any family or friends with my names. I think it was a random pick. Same when I named my son. We just tossed names around until we both agreed on the first and middle name.
