Am I a jerk for yelling at my moms dog for breaking my ps5?

My mom has a 13 year old pit bull that she drops off at my place most morning while she works. She works a lot of hours and doesn't want to leave him alone. Ever since he's gotten older, he's VERY clingy. He follows me everywhere, and is always like one foot away. He also just stands right where people are walking. My aunt tripped over him twice. Anyways, I do have my ps5 in a weird place. It's like right next to my door, so whenever I open it, it's like 6 inches away from my ps5. So yesterday the dog was in my room. I left to get something and he immediately jumps odd my bed, and rams himself through the door, bumps my ps5 off the platform it was sitting on. It made a big bang sound, and there was a crack on the bottom of it. I pretty much knew it was toast but I plugged it in still and sure enough it wouldn't turn on. So right when it happened, I sort of screamed "God dammit hyde! Go lay in the living room!" I could tell he was scared. He's fine now, but I feel really guilty for yelling at him.

You aren’t a jerk, you feel guilty for doing it, If you were a big jerk you wouldn’t feel remorse….

Maybe give him a pat / rub on the place the dog likes most like head scratches or belly rubs then give him a treat and apologize in a sweet tone to make it all better.

You can take the PS5 to a repair store and explained what happened, that way it is a happy ending. Just put it in a safer place next time and try to be more careful I guess. Its not the dog’s fault and you understand this as a loving compassionate dude.

nothing wrong with establishing boundaries just make sure you follow through with that and be consistent. you're not trying to cause harm and it's better to show leadership so the the dog has some understanding where he can fit in.
