I usually get complimented on about my Scottish accent as people say I speak well how come my Pennsylvania family tell me they don’t understand me?

There are certain accents I cannot understand whatsoever. I assume it's the same for others. I have never taken a Spanish class and would pick up more on Spanish than certain accents speaking English.

I just think they are not well cultured. I never have a problem when I travel and I’ve been to a lot of places in the world

Probs don’t leave their state much. I can understand all accents who speak English so easily Australian, South African, Welsh, Irish. I live in Europe I hear different languages and accents everyday

Same. And different French accents too (like between Canada and France).
