Story of a Colorado mother who states that her child's math teacher took her autistic mentally disabled child (17) and police refused to return the minor to her parent's care. I presume none of us can say what we would do for sure, but best guess what do you think you would do?

I think there is more to the story if police aren't intervening. Can you link the news article or provide names for me to research?

Is the article I read. The question is more general though. What would you do, not what do you think about the story.
Well the story might affect what I might do. For example, if I were beating my child daily and the police deemed it an unsafe environment and the teacher was able to take them in then I would have to wait for it to play out legally.
If someone just straight up took my child though, I'd do everything I could including legal and illegal means to get them back.
After reading it, it seems the child was already in the process of getting emancipated and was months from becoming an adult. There wouldn't be much I could really do legally to stop them.
The child was transgender, ran away after an argument with his mother, and had turned 18 that week before running away, no laws were broken. Just an FYI
Well when I was 16 I was married and pregnant so it's the 17 year oldest choice.
