The best thing you can know about pregnancy is 80 percent of women have perfectly simple pregnancies that result in perfectly fine babies.

There are ALL KINDS of problems that can happen during pregnancy. That's a given. But healthy women within normal age ranges don't often have such problems. AND women who have good gynecologists and primary care docs keep tabs on their pregnant patients.

You see your doctor monthly and if there are ANY issues, they are taken care of. If you feel bad, you call in and get taken care of. With proper care pregnancy is simply another part of life. And I was 39 when I had my son. Smooth, easy no problem. had him at home with a midwife. No drugs.

That's a STATISTICAL chance. Not a REAL chance in your particular case.

If all the women in your family had healthy pregnancies, chances are you will too. All the women in my family had healthy pregnancies. So did I. Don't create a worry where there is little to no chance of it happening.

That's catastrophizing, fear mongering. If your mom, her sisters, your dad's sisters, your grandmothers all had normal pregnancies, you will too, unless you have an exacerbating illness.

Your body won't be ruined. It'll take a year or less and exercise and your body will return to normal. It takes nine months to produce a baby. It'll take somewhere around that amount of time to get back in shape. And if you exercise and take care of yourself during pregnancy, it may take far less time.

It is not terrifying. You should talk to women who've had good pregnancies, good medical care and who've taken care of themselves. It may be DIFFICULT, but it's an ordinary part of life for women who choose to have babies and who have normal health.

I was nearly 40 and I had the most boring pregnancy. Worst thing that happened, my feet were swollen. Had normal child and recovered normally. In three months I felt and looked normal. You're just tired after having a kid. Everyone has to get used to each other and new schedules. It's an additional job and commitment.

Pregnancy is the easy part. Child raising is much harder!

If you are talking about it being painful , biblically painful labor was a curse given upon women because eve ate from the forbidden tree, I'd imagine that's what brings the most fear among women when talking about labor
