You ever feel like your parents think you are stupid?

I am 42, and it feels like everything I want to do in life, they want me not to. They want me to follow their path, and it is not what I want. They want me to go through life without wanting to do what I want. I actually caught my father congratulating himself on crushing my dreams. I am 42 and listened to him, who said that my dreams do not make money.

I am keeping it a secret about what I am currently doing. Also, as someone who has an autoimmune disease (MS) a lot of things are stacked against me (I am fine, by the way). I just feel like, because their parents put walls in front of them, they want to do it to me, or as if only certain people are chosen for success. Again, I've had it. Sorry for the rant.

I think it's because I'm single and do not have my own place now (do not listen to boomers when it comes to job decisions)

They think mailroom work gets you through the door. TRhat does not happen anymore
One thing I learned was that Boomers are the weaker generation.
