Have you ever moved to another state? How did it turn out?

the last time I migrated from one place to another was when I was 3 going to 4 so I didn't really felt that big of an impact.

it was from Dominican Republic all the way to here Rhode Island where I been living since then. I always fucking hated it here, been dying to move out of this hellhole since I was in high school but things just never worked out until now.

I been planning on moving to Las Vegas despite me not having any friends and family down there. this is the only thing that worries me,

I have moved quite a bit. I have lived in 6 states and moved within those states as well. Only one state didn’t appeal to me. I have been to Vegas and it is so arid and brown that I don’t think I would like to live there. It’s also far away from other cities which would make me feel stuck like I did in one city.

Go for it! Maybe I'll come through and holler at you. I lived in Carson City with a cousin for a good six weeks in 1986. I has a lot of wild fun. But I missed Tejas and came back. It was the trees! There aren't any trees out there.

It is challanging, but it all works out. I have lived in Florida, Georgia, North Carolina, Alabama, Massachusetts. It will prevent you from becoming Provincial and build an opinion that you can survive anywhere. I never said it was comfortable.

After my divorce, I moved from the Northeast US to the Southeast US. It was a good move. Besides warmer weather and less taxes, it is where I met my current wife. I was fortunate to stay with my same company, just a different job.

no, but I prefer a desert over shithole that gets hit by unpredictable snowstorms during the winters

no I'm Latino. but here in Rhode Island the weather can be bipolar and hard to predict. especially during the winter when it could be nice and fair outside but then boom we get hit by a snow storm hours later

I dont know where to start.

probably cancel my Netflix account since I there lots of live shows I can go to. not much of a gambler myself but I dont mind visiting casinos when I need to destress. lastly hit the strip clubs for sure

if you haven't seen the news. LV is a ghost town. no one can afford it anymore. i don't know how that effects the shows and clubs? i would think negatively. casinos can't afford to stay open without customers. it takes like $250,000 a night to run a casino!

besides that, when things were okay, the crime was kind of high. i'm talking about off the strip crime. the job market i don't know about. i think you'll find something though because it's a city full of grifters. so have a confident attitude and you should be fine.

I went to college in upstate New York and I had basic training in Texas. I want to move to Florida but I cannot get my wife to leave.

I wanted to move to Florida myself a while back, to Miami to be exact but I changed my mind because every thing is expensive and within a drive away

I still live in the city in which I was born. If, however, a repeal of Prop 13 ever makes the ballot I will sell everything and move to another state.

No but one of my good friends did, he was always coming back to California to get away from Vegas. I've been there plenty of times. The all the casino shit gets old. Once you're off Las Vegas boulevard, you're just in another desert town without shit to do

You can always find a show to go to or a band playing somewhere, and there's plenty of good places to eat and places open late to eat, but besides gambling that's about it

Is it cool place to visit for a few days but not a cool place to live forever

If you like riding dirt bikes and shooting guns, there's plenty of places to do that outside of Vegas

But beware it gets 120° during the summer sometimes and you could have a few days in a row where the temperature is over 115. In the summer 2024 they had like 11 days in a row where it was over 110°

When you get out of side of the city there's lake Mead, but other than that there's just rocks and rocks and dirt

There's a couple scenic places out there like Red Rock canyon and valley of fire

makes sense. I guess it has its ups and down like many other places. but it sure as fuck sounds like paradise compared to Rhode Island.
