Now some of this has to do with my aphantasia, but I can't solely blame it for all my memory issues.
So how about you? Do you have a great memory or do you tend to forget some things easily?

Trending & News You sound really self-aware about how your memory works, which is a strength in itself. Everyone’s brain filters information differently — some people retain visuals or emotions more than details. I’d say my memory is strong for patterns and meaning, but not perfect for random facts.
yeah once i understand something then i'm gonna remember it
ironically i sometimes forget that most people dont bc its normal for me, so its caused me to get annoyed at people before lol
I just had my yearly physical last month and the nurse tells me 3 words and then we do the preliminary physical and about a half hour later she asks me for the three words.
The three words were Leader, Season, and Table. I passed.
I think i could pasa a cognitive test ok, it's just other things that tend to get me.
Uh, nothing, but i just had a protein bar right now for a late breakfast.
I have an outstanding memory for everything except names
I can even remember small details about someone that they told me
But chances are I will not register their name unless I hear it a few times at first

I'm a lot like you. I forget things unless I write them down and keep the paper right in front of me. I'm also really terrible with directions so if my GPS runs out of battery I start to panic unless I've driven the route repeatedly for at least a year and know it by heart.
The only exception I have is that particular scents will occasionally bring back memories from my past that I attach emotional significance to. When this happens I'll usually experience whatever emotion I was feeling almost immediately, and it sometimes will take me a minute or two to remember the exact factual details of whatever event I'm recalling.
I've always been very sensitive to odors and can often detect them when others can't. I attach scents to particular places, particular people, and particular events I've experienced, and they cause me to recall both happy and sad moments in my life. And I'll keep something with my partner's scent on it handy to remind me of him while he's away.
I've read that the sense of smell is the most primitive of the five senses, which probably explains why it's the exception.
Interesting! I tend to forget things that aren't important to me. But sometimes I forget a colleagues name, only when I'm very busy in my head
I believe I have a good enough memory to make me who I am today, man who many rely on to remember things.
Yeah, that’s an area I can’t complain.
Sorry, what was the question?
Yes I do, when it's something of interest.
Not bad for my age.
ummm wait, what was the question again?
It's decent
