When will I ever thank my father for using a belt on me as a little kid? NEVER. I'm not the type to glorify physical punishment at all. I've developed a deep hatred for that practice. I view that as battery with a weapon. Even if it were just to sting for a day, that's what it is if you do that to another adult or if your boss does that to you. I find the folks that keeping saying ''Oh I told my parents thank you for all the ass whoppings you gave me', it made me a great person'' actualy sick. How can anyone glorify someone (basically putting them on a pedestal and calling them the best mom/dad ever, bs) that had little to no patience to really parent and teach? Pathetic.
However, I happily bare my C-section bikini scar. The pain I've undergone for nearly 45 days (obviously a lot more painful than getting hit with a belt) as 7 layers of skin were cut and its longer recovery process was indeed worthy. I wanted to have a child so badly and now I have my beautiful Sunshine, my now nearly 7 month-old boy; the person I love the most ever. If I were to go back in time and had to do it all over again, I would. I actually would like to try for a 2nd child in the near future and don't mind at all if I have to undergo another emergency C-section.
Isn't this unique? Both deal with pain but one I hate and the other one I'm glad. Can you guys explain me the difference between them.

Natural birth is quicker in recovery but c section is much easier than long labor, though more painful long term. Being hit is a negative experience but having a child is a joyful one.
I cannot explain it, but I assume it could be because the pain of the C-Section resulted in a child being born.
Yup, while the C-section resulted in the birth of my precious treasure (the best benefit/gift ever), corporal punishment sucks; brings fear into the child.
No, it's sensible. Surgery is not abuse.
Exactly. I'm tired of the bible ''spare the rod, spoil the kid'' fanatics. They use religion as an excuse for abuse. But as soon as I tell them I'm atheist, they stop responding back, lol.
How can anyone give birth or father their own child, only to hit them (cause them physical discomfort/pain) years later is beyond me. I can never do that to my own son.
