Yes, unless the parents are smart as well as strict. My parents were clueless and I could put anything over on them. My kids unfortunately had a father that did everything that they tried to put over on me and if I didn;t do it myself I knew people that did it.

it's survival of the fittest out there

however, I don't really think that the "philosophy of parenting" has as the goal to be raising a liar but rather a criticism on such parenting style... but at the same time, some so-called parents seem to be quite determined to just ruin their kids lives...

Hmmm. Let's accept this :) - followingly, I owe you an answer... I don't see that a liar is the necessary result. But it's one of the options. In my own case the strict parenting (of Grandma, mainly) made me an underground rebel activist with a skill to find 'the gaps'.
