I’m kind of a fan of Hobbs humans are naturally evil, Which is evidenced by the Marquis de Sade who name we get the word sadism from. Frankly I think it’s religion we need in order to have the society we want to live in, I’m agnostic myself but I’d rather live in a world run by Christian then one run by atheist. There is no morality and atheism it’s impossible The logical conclusion of Atheism is essentially I can do whatever the hell I want if I want to have sex with Britney Spears and I have sex with Britney Spears regardless if she agrees or not, if go doesn’t exist then it not wrong for a man to rape or kill another man, “there is no god why should I care” nature itself does not care what you do if anything nature itself wants men to rape wants men to kill his fellow man for land or wealth or a women, This is why I can’t be an atheist the only logic behind it is selfless, New atheist like to say I’m wrong of course, but even atheist like Richard Dawkins Sam Harris even Ayn Rand, all get there moral compass from Greek reasoning and Jewish/Christian ethics which does subject what is right and wrong and these prominent atheist never wonder where there ethics comes from, The Marquis de Sade is the only one who makes any sense, nature wants rape nature want murder, (nature isn’t a God it’s just there). So by the rules of nature morality doesn’t exist.
No one needs religion to be a good person. In fact, I would much rather have someone who is good by choice than one who is good out of fear of God.
How the hell did you come to the conclusion that without Christianity there is no morality and atheism is impossible?
And no, what you call a 'logical conclusion" of atheism is anything but. Anything other than lacking a belief in god (s) is not part of atheism. And didn't you make the same stupid argument before? The one about if there wasn't a God how you'd be a murderer and a rapist? There are so many sad sad people like you in this world. It almost makes me glad that you do have your invisible friend to lean on. Otherwise you probably would be a murderer and a rapist. Some of us don't need threats of punishment or promises of reward to do what's right.
@AndrésC64 can you tell me why murder is wrong? Sure you can be a good person without believing in god. But there no logic in why your acting the way you do. Your moral values which you can’t explain without falling into moral relativism. Our society was build by Greek reasoning and Jewish Christian values. This has been the case since 313 ad under Constantine. You take away the Greek reasoning and Jewish morality what are you left with? Nothing you don’t have a valid reason why you shouldn’t murder someone who has something you want, you have no reason not to lock a girl in your basement and tell her to rub the loaches on its skin or else it gets the hose again.
This the issue with this Jean-Jacques Rousseau idea of of the Nobel savage, where the savage who was raised by wolves some how known not to attack and kill there fellow man. No the human raised by wolves will act like a wolf he or she will attack humans without hesitation to defend his/her territory like wolves do. This is why Hobbs was right humans are essentially evil. We will do anything to get what we want, The only reason we don’t is because of strict government or rules that governor a society and you have strict punishment for those who go against societal rules. Hobbs is right Russo is wrong.
Also I didn’t say I’m agnostic which means I have no idea if god exist or not but I do believe in the Christian idea of morality just like you do.
I don't think it's wise to strictly subscribe to any particular philosophy. The great thing about philosophy is that there's so many different ideas and approaches. It's not a quiz show game where you have to choose one and then stick to it. You will find good ideas in most philosophies.

I grew up with biblical teachings gewish/Greek/ English translated
Those teachings provide the foundations of my moral compass.
I admired the sayings of some philosophers (Greek), and I think one Asian philosopher? 🤔 can’t recall it, but I currently haven’t dedicated my life, or daily way of living to any moral philosophy. I’m going about it as I see fit, and kind of making my own way to these things.
"Humans are a trash species filled with idiots and morons, but we all need each other to survive, so we have to learn to forgive each other for our infinite stupidity, lest we all go extinct." - MCheetah
I follow the Christian and Jewish bible and both Christian pastors and Rabbis and I’ve seen Islamic videos before too. All religions are beautiful, but I’m too busy to study them all.
The what You Do to me I can do to you or Do more to you Philosophy in other words if you Knock my tooth out I can chop your finger off And then I will feel Like justice was served philosophy.
I don't live in the past, that's for sure... lol
Then where do you live?
@BigschlongEnergy at my place... where most of my stuff is, usually
And did You get your stuff in the past?
@BigschlongEnergy no... mostly, I got it from Costco
very good deals down there
yeah well I don’t know about You But The tv I got yesterday is the tv I use today and by using the same tv That I got in the past means I ain’t Living in the future.
Just like the bag of chips I eat yesterday ain’t gonna taste like the future it’s gonna taste like The past.
But if your That evolved Then props To you for becoming a Time traveler with the ability to bend reality into something new At will.
@BigschlongEnergy yes... I am usually bending time, both the future and the past...
and do you know when I do it? in the present time, isn't that fascinating?
Woah 🤯
@BigschlongEnergy r/sure... lol
I like the philosophy of Jim Jefferies
Born again Christian: try to live my life through Christ
I feel like you can take something from every pretty much but I like the most Christianity, Buddhism, New age and Wicca.
Kant is where it's at for the most part. I find utilitarianism/outcome based morality to be a pretty evil concept.
Okay Kant, "was awoken from his slumber" by Hume. Kant believed at one time and after working through Pure reason in response to Hume severely doubted. Further thought upon the subject led to Practical Reason. Practical reason was a back door or backhanded admission that there is a God based upon Intelligent Design of Morality, Law, and Man's Free Will, Innate knowing right/wrong, and Cause/Effect or Judgments that permeates Life. Clearly the Designer is also the Judge and Creator.-This last sentence mirrors Aristotle's "First Cause", Causer. Aristotle and Plato knew God Is.
I really dig the idea of the categorical imperative, and that you should always do the right thing regardless of ether there's anyone around to catch you or not. I can't remember if I have the Critique or pure reason or practical reason at home. I know my wife got me the one that you should read first, but I haven't picked it up on a while.
I don't know I just follow Jesus
Biblical morality.
Whether you believe that Judeo-Christian concepts evolved when we changed from a hunter gatherer to an agrarian society, which needed a set of rules to live by" Or you subscribe to the concepts of Diety. The Ten Commandments and the Beatitudes do help to foster personalities that give us the best chance to live in close proximity to one another. But that being said They also foster personalities that are trusting of others and are easy hits for the criminal element.
Do you believe in Physics Mass Energy Motion ⁉️ Can you acknowledge an obvious organized Intelligent Design from single cell to eye 👁 to perfect tilt of earth, and even the evolving process in and of itself , etc ⁉️
Is it agreeable that from Chaos or Randomness neither an organized Intelligent Design can explode into Being ⁉️,
True we know how things work with science/physics and scientific history and contribution
We essentially know the hierarchies of nature and systems and cycles. How things came to be (started) and how they’re working
But that’s about it. The functions by science
But religion and Christianity encourages conscience and morality of human character. Science is not abstract, and it’s not malleable by human reason or emotion. It is just a mechanics recording sort of thing
Yet religion, even if it seems mythical or ridiculous, indeed encourages and persuades good human conduct and discouraged humans to act on impulse.
This is kind of profound to me. I like it yet I don’t like it, but I’m glad you mentioned science. 🤔👌
Sorry, maybe you studied that and really want to talk about it, or show something you know about it because you’re talking about a specific part in the umbrella of science, instead of addressing or just leaving what I said.
I thanked you for something you said, which helped me further my conclusions in these matters- I’m not claiming you’re right or wrong.
I’m not looking for a teacher either, so you have no business teaching me something here. “Thanks for your share,” is really the summary underlier of what I said.
If the details I mentioned bothers you- sorry?
Lmao
Truthfully, your points are gobbledygook and opinion only. Anyone can do that... You made the claim that science is legitimate and religion is not. I am saying God created Science and Christianity is anything but abstract. I can prove my point which is much different than spouting unsubstantiated opinion fed by public school, university, you tube, and internet as a whole... :-)
How nice of you to assume I get my concluded logic from the mere say of other people
You act like God himself. You and all your glorious knowledge- hu hu 🧐
Let me ask you- have you EVER HEARD the VOICE of GOD?
had he chose to reveal himself to you?
I was the most devoted believer of Jesus;
Saved at 7
He was my ONLY best friend.
I would say “Jesus let just you and I be together forever, let us be best friends forever and no one else… fine I’ll love those humans too because you love them.”
“Jesus can I just have a corner of heaven? Please forgive my sins and help me to be the best person after your own heart.”
You darn fool!
If any deity existed- we would have seen the concrete evidence of that by now!
Either all of humanity would be driven praising satan, and the demons would be having their way by now in governments and all evil would be here today because of that terminology called FREE WILL
Or God would have completely aided us to have victory- you have no knowledge of what faith really is. You have no idea who God’s character is beyond the texts, with the texts only as inference
If the true God of Judah existed and sent the son of man to say all was finished and the Holy Spirit was given to us to live in victory, we would have had the opportunity to live victorious lives with the simple acceptance of his Holy Spirit- performing the same acts as Jesus himself because he said we’d do greater things than these-
Have you seen those preachers who do mass acts or miracles?
Do you?
How come that is not wide and global scale?
Don’t Google it you answer me- YOU ANSWER ME
have you performed these miracles?
Raised someone from the dead?
What has any satanist achieved?
What has this idiotic devil called satan done for himself?
What has any witch done? Nothing on global scale; nothing to show true power and evidence of a spiritual force.
NOTHING
All Christianity is good for: is sparking hope in the hopeless who cannot reason, and encourage good morals.
If you want to go so far as to prove God is real then speak to him yourself and he would clearly speak back as he did with Moses on Mount Sinai.
God cannot be seen by man according to the texts, but he can be heard, and this access is denied.
Even those who are schizophrenic, would be claimed to be hearing demons from the typical believer
But that is nothing but the power of the mind itself; the same mind that causes hallucinations and any other kind of disorder.
I’ve said my piece and I will not defend myself because I don’t consider you or your words a threat. Just puddles of water floating to the sewers.
Any other category/ topic and you’re quite proficient, but this, and the way you- a believer of God, treat another person is unbelievable. You take that belief elsewhere.
Do it to them before they do it to me.
Libertarianism, individualism.
Satanism. The best philosophy there is.
Catholicism.
Stoicism.
Cosmicism
