Is it my fault that I dont bring my child around to see his dad and his family like that because my child father is abusive towards me?

My child father is abusive to me. He stay with his mom 10 hours away from me until he get his own place. His family want to see my 2 years old son and they mad at me that I haven't brought my son around but they want me to come there and drive 10 hours which I have 2 times already instead they come where im at or at least meet me halfway and I told his family I haven't been around because my child father is abusive towards me. The last time my child father and his mom saw our son we got into argument and he spit on me , push me and choke me in front of my son and his mom just stand there and look. My child father mother dont reach out to me asking about how her grandchild is so why should I reach out to her?

he's abusive to you and your child making the child traumatized and his mom is quite something if she actually thinks you should cooperate with them after what she's witnessed and she did nothing. Contact the police. Get a lawyer. Grandparents got no legal right as well as the rest of his family to get access to your child through you, it is only cultural, traditionel they may think they are full of rights. You could happen to be family, relative, in laws with who ever. Don't equal them having any legal right to your child. Sometimes some people try their best to through tactics at you to make you think they are superior to you or that you somehow for what ever the reason have to cooperate, get along with them. You don't. They may really beat the drum and seem terryfying the more in reality desperate and inferior they are but they got nothing else up their sleeve. Please look out for yourself and get in contact too with supportive lines for those falling victim of abuse and take on the advice they give, do not take any risks. There sre those who are abusive who themselves seek help etc but he is not now one of those but someone dangerous. You need to be very careful. That child only got one mom so what ever you do from now on know that you are very, very important, precious to your child and you both need to be safe and stay safe.

No it’s not your fault. You should not be letting your child near his father either, that man is disgusting if he’s doing those things to his child’s mother, let alone in front of the child. You should block all forms of contact from that family too.

Not at all , your ex is a POS by putting his hands on you that way , so if he wants to see his kid , he needs to go to the court and try to get partial custody , you on the other hand needs to tell the court the truth about how he is abusive to you , and tell them you don’t feel safe with him being around your child , and suggest he has supervised visits, because you don’t trust him around your child whatsoever ,

YOU are no longer in the equation. Allow the child to see his father. It is a sad state of affairs when a mother USES her own child as a bargaining chip or asset against their father. Be very careful... they will get old enough to figure things our for themselves, and it will not go well for you.

On the one hand, it’s his dad and in a court of law unless you can PROVE ABUSE to you or your kid they’ll tell you that at least supervised visitations are required.
