My family is very dysfunctional (e. g. both parents divorced, 1 parent lost house to foreclosure, 1 parent was homeless for some time, both parents were incarcerated but not at same time, experienced parental alienation, gaslighting by parent), but I'd like to think there is some higher purpose for why I grew up in this environment. So, I chose yes. If I knew more about how other families are, maybe my answer would be different. I feel like my upbringing helped make me empathic / sensitive to other's suffering.

No , I know that did their best but it would have been nice if they did not fight all tbe time and get divorced. Also if they had more money maybe to send me to college.

I’d choose the lessons, even if I wouldn’t choose every experience.

Parents shape you in good and hard ways. Even the flaws teach you what to keep and what to do differently in your own life.

So maybe not perfect parents but the growth that came from them, yes.

Yes, I would. My parents never did anything bad; they were just never around and at the age of 12 disappeared out of my life. I only saw them one more time after that.

No, my parents were very very good to me and, the older I get, the more I realize what a great job they did especially considering how young they were when I was born.
