Most Americans are OVERLY focused on their romantic partner to the point of obsession. But most people in other countries even though they make focus on their Romantic partner more, they still hang out with their friends, relatives, etc. a lot. In America most people drop their friends and relatives completely or hardly talk to them once they get a romantic partner. French, Costa Ricans, etc hang out with friends a lot despite having a girlfriend or wife, husband, kids, etc. In America they don't hang out with their friends or relatives in like 6 months. Lol.

I know a Mexican guy who says how in America most of his friends only or mostly contact him when they need something but in Mexico it wasn't like that. People are super social and most of the time it is genuine and not ulterior motives.

I think happiness is influenced by many variables, culture, economy, social safety nets, expectations, even personality.

Some societies prioritize community more, yes. Others prioritize individual freedom.

But comparing happiness across countries in a simple way usually misses context.

It’s rarely one factor that makes people fulfilled.

Nope. I have lived in 4 different countries and haven't noticed any differences whatsoever.

People have constantly said and travelers too in Costa Rica, etc how people are way more social and hang out with their friends and family weekly compared to the U. S. If you have lived in countries in which you noticed no difference you must of lived in Japan, South Korea, Nordic countries, Germany, countries like that.

And I'm talking about even when they are taken or have kids. You must of not been to France, Italy, etc. People hang out with their friends, family constantly. Here when people have kids or are taken they hardly talk to or hang out with their friends and family.

A lot of Americans are in denial. Like the Nikki woman that also commented on this video. People in other countries do prioritize friendships and family a lot as well. People constantly have said that. Especially people who have traveled there, etc.
