Why are some people more open to dating foreigners than other people?

I've noticed some people are vehemently opposed to dating outside their ethnicity, why? does nationality really affect the relationship?

like some Europeans only wanting to date other European or even more specific, some finnish people only wanting to date other fins. why?

Nationality is a different country. Ethnicity is a different race. I believe. I've dated enough internationally to not wana do that again unless they were going to be a permanent resident in my state by the end of the year, and yea thats not the case. As for ethnicity, i’ve dated all over but i prefer my own. I wouldn't turn down someone of a different ethnicity if i really like them and we have a lot in common. But i dont go actively seeking interracial relationships. Too many dudes outside my culture be asking me dumb ignorant shit. I dont have time to teach them whats okay to say/ask or not to say/ask. They should just KNOW or they can do their own research. But yea things are just “easier” to understand if we’re both black/American.

Because we’re not all one big world commie. We have ethnographic principles that differ across borders. If you ever got out there and observed the world you would experience cultural shock from one local to the next. The same can be said of religions and other cultural divisions. People that are native-born culturally assimilate for the most part even if their parents where from a foreign country. Outsides often conflict with people's views. Conflict leads to arguments. Constant arguments lead to separation.

Could be a myriad of factors, from simple preferences to racism and/or nationalism - it really comes down to the individual and their reasoning.

Where I live it seems that men are more willing to date foreign women while women prefer to date local men - my mother is a French immigrant, and my wife is Austrian-born.

Maybe they don't count because they are white, but at the same time I've dated a Russo-Korean woman in the past and one of the girlfriends I've set my half-brother with is Afro-Belgian.

Cultural differences can have a pretty huge impact, yeah. I’m an American and I have dated several Indian women and women of other cultures. I can tell you from personal experience that there have been many situations where the women’s behavior and expectations simply did not line up with the American point of view. Sometimes that misalignment was good, sometimes it was bad; but it has always been there, every time, without fail.

I don't mind mixing. More fun that way. I dont even know many people that are my ethnicity. You connect , that's what counts. Why would we need to be with same ethnicity. Especially in north America.
