My friend always takes 3 months to respond to my text but always online and post on social media?

I have a long time friend and everytime we text it takes him months to respond and he always left me on read but I see him very active on social media posting anything should I just move on from friendship?

Point is we are all different. Of course "3 months" is a similie, and if it takes 3 hours then he might be getting his shit together and overthinking trying not to ruin it. Though, if i do something similar to that, i instead respond incompletely quick, and take time for the better followup.

If they are not communicating enough for you, you may as well stop. Personally I have many different friends that communicate to varying degrees. Some message several time a day, some once a day, some once a week, some only every few months, and some only on special occasions like birthdays.

Sounds like he isn’t very interested in maintaining that connection. Personally I’m not one to put too much emphasis on texting, and sometimes it can take me a while to get back to messages. But 3 months? That definitely says something. You don’t have to never speak with him again but I certainly wouldn’t be initiating any conversations going forward.
