There’s this man who I’ll call Tom (not his real name). We were friends, I loved him and he deliberately led me on, because he liked my attention although he didn’t take me seriously as a love interest. There was always some excuse about why we had to postpone being together.
What I know about Tom is that he comes from a well to do, very academic family from an exclusive area. I’m someone from a comfortable but less privileged, academic background and I live in a cottage in a little, green suburb. I get the sense that Tom thought I wasn’t good enough for him.
Since we stopped talking, which was my decision, I’ve noticed that he keeps following me on social media, such as Facebook and Eventbrite. There’s a man who very closely resembles Tom who’s been trying to add me on a dating app, since Tom and I stopped talking.
