1 moI'd say 12 or 13 is about the right age. At least it was when I was that age. Quite a few of the girls in school were talking about their boyfriend's that they didn't have the year before.
However, the way kids today are with sex, it might not the BEST idea in the world!! It seems like EVERYONE EXPECTS to get laid on the first date!! That's NOT how it was when we were in our early teens!! From what I recall, the first and ONLY girl in our class to get pregnant was about 16 years old!! And this was during the free love period!!00 Reply

If the boy is also 13 maybe it’s a good idea to get her first break up out of the way early.
That way she can have improved standards later on
But to date someone seriously, I would say 13 is way too young yeah00 Reply
1 moYeah, so my parents are strict about dating thing and I went through 2 shitty relationships because I had no adult to share those kinda problems with. If she wants to date, she will date. If you say her no, she will most probably date behind your back. It's good to be strict but when kids start hiding things from you, you won't be able to help them to deal with bad decisions. Allow her to date so she can freely tell you any dilemma she goes through.

Lol it's fine, she should take her own time, no rush.
1 moIf she's interested in a guy she will date him. You can choose to support her and have an eye on what's going on, or prohibit it and things will happen secretly behind your back.

1 moYup. You will be a grampa within a year. Put her in sports, volunteer at an animal shelter or community events. She needs a social circle of positive people with goals and ambitions., not boyfriend's.
10 Replyas long as she's dating guys who are also in middle school and you make sure they can't be alone for too long, it's perfectly acceptable for her to date

1 moI don't see a problem as such. You probably want some structure around it e. g. they go to a movie, get picked up after... rather than 'just be back by 10''.

1 moVery young. But as long as she's dating boys her own age and like not going to bedrooms alone with a boy.

1 moAt 13, supervised dating is fine. That's when we started allowing our daughter to date with supervision. At 15, she can date unsupervised.

Anonymous(45 Plus)1 moI’d say yes way too young. I’m thinking maybe about 16, but even than as a dad I’m still thinking no cause it would be my daughter. But I thinking 16 is a more reasonable age of course there would be some ground rules.

1 moIn my opinion yes. But if you had asked me at age 13, I would’ve emphatically said no, it’s not too young.

1 moIf you dint "allow" her she will just do it behind your back anyway which is not the experience you want her to have

00 Reply 3.4K opinions shared on Family & Friends topic. Probably, but I was dating at 12, so I can't judge.
00 Reply2.2K opinions shared on Family & Friends topic. What is the point of dating? To find a life partner. Everything else just adds trauma and baggage. A child isn't suited for romance or sexual behavior. That is common sense.

1 moYes, definitely. At that age they should just be starting to appreciate the other gender in that way, it's too soon.

"I'm sure" isn't good enough. Unless you are there as a chaperone it shouldn't be allowed. This reminds me of Muslim child marriage and it's sickening.
4.9K opinions shared on Family & Friends topic. I can’t believe you would allow her to date at that age. She is a child. There’s no way she should be dating
00 ReplyMostly yes. If it's a group date or chaperone. That would be okay with me. But need location and time lines.

Anonymous(36-45)1 moDepends, in some countries it's normal. Some people even let their 12 years old daughters to date, but I think it's too young before she is at least about 14-16.
00 ReplyTbh it depends on the age group she wants to date.
