I’d just give up trying to plan anything with them. I understand having to cancel plans every now and then, especially if it’s a friend who has health conditions or children to worry about, but cancelling EVERY time would get old really fast.
Agreed
Next time I'm the one cancelling indefinitely!
My aim on GAG is to decode messy relationship dynamics… and this is one of them 😏
If it happens once, fine. Repeatedly? That’s a walking red flag. I’d feel disrespected and slowly stop initiating. I’d pull back, match their effort, and invest in people who actually show up. No drama, no lovebombing, just quiet distancing and moving on with my life.

It's only annoying if we’ve already purchased tickets to an event, I’d have to rush to find someone else to go with because I won’t go alone. However, I’m usually understanding if nothing was set in stone. I have plenty of things to keep me busy, I can always go to the gym or hang out with my family. Someone is always free
It usually gets me because i usually pump myself up for it and then when its a last minute cancellation its a huge buzz kill. I understand emergencies happen but everytime it happens i start to wonder if they really care about spending time with me. This was a huge point of contention with my ex. If they have to pull out i just prefer a day in advance at least.
This happened to me a long while back. I became frustrated and sad but never said anything. I have a hard time letting people know if they hurt me.
After she was in a better place, we talked it out.
It can be a bit frustrating sometimes, but not a big deal.
