How would you feel if your parent dated someone younger than you?

I asked my kids’ if they would be upset if I dated someone younger than them or close in age to them , and they said Not at all, as long as she treats you good and makes you happy , that’s all that matters. I asked them if they would feel weirded out by it? And shockingly they said No , I raised my kids’ well 😂 How would you feel and think if your parent was dating someone younger than you ot close to age as you?

I think I'd judge the person by who they were and how they treat my parent over their age. If they seem really opposite then it might be weird. But some older people have young souls and young people old souls and they meet in the middle and just seem right. It's about compatibility over anything.

@Gedough actually he had relationship with older woman than I twice before me. Think you gotta get some brains and realise it can be a two way mutually beneficial thing. It's not long term. It's casual. Just not "just sex" either which weirdly you think is OK when that is shallow and he has grown as a person through this connection which I hope he can use for a successful wife and kids relationship in the future when he's ready. I'm also looking for a age appropriate relationship. But in meantime we both get affection, cosleeping, sexual pleasure and an intellectual attunement it's hard to find in others. If anything he's getting all the advantages.

I see you like older men. But of course it's OK cos they are men and men can like younger women. I think your insecure about getting older and you like men much older cos they think your a catch based on age not your attractiveness cos they think "wow how'd I attract a 29 year old. I must be lucky". But men your age or younger obviously don't feel attracted to you so because women older than you can still attract them maybe you feel less worthy which makes you get all angsty over older women actually having something you don't. Physical attractiveness - which you seem fixated on as a ok reason for sex only - is not what what makes sex great. Some people are into connection and emotion too and deeper bonding. And can still understand it's not a fairytale long term relationship. Casual sex rekationships and friends with benefits doesn't only mean hook up or shallow.
