How do I handle a family conflict over posting my son’s photos online?

My husband and I are fine with posting photos our son online, we actually just switched to flickr but someone we know been giving us a hard time for posting the photos online and the whole fight got worst and broke our family into half. What should I do?

I just don’t understand the motive / reasons behind posting pictures of your some online and I know nothing about flikr.


Assuming it’s a closed community of people you select that can view those pictures of your son and assuming the pictures are legal and morally correct then I can’t imagine what your family “should” have a problem with it but families are fickle like that I guess.

I think it's best just not to post pictures of your kid online. I mean independend of what you personally want, that kid is too young to consent to it cause it can't understand it yet. So I personally would have some moral issues with doing that. Like it's your kid and your problem so I won't judge. But I wouldn't personally do it.

Well, if your kids go missing or are subject to sexual abuse, you can blame yourself for posting them online. Why do you think so many kids go missing. A predator first response will be " your mom posted those pretty pictures of you". No, I'm not paranoid, I've seen what predators do 😡

Most likely that the child did not agree to having his pictures posted on the internet. Parents assume that they have all rights in the world to post images but as long as the child does not consent, they are infringing on his right.

Therefore, the parents are in the wrong and that person that is concerned about the child's basic rights is correct.
