Frankly, it is a complex question. On one hand, I would not have a problem with having another kid at my age, given that my other kids are all adults now. On the other hand, I know they would have much less time with me if I were in my 60s and having babies with my partner. But after some thought, it all depends upon the kind of fatherhood one is willing to give: a few less years of high-quality parenting are eons better than an absent biological father who doesn't give a shit about his kids.

That being said, yes, I would, if the woman I was with at that age also had this same high commitment.

I prefer to be a Grand dad. It's much more challenging :)

I had a belated birthday lunch with a 73-year-old author buddy-he's two months older than I-and his six-feet-tall 12-year-old son. Libaan Curtis, my author buddy Christoper Crtis 12-year-old son (his dad is 73, two months older than Yours Truly), is, in addition to being six feet tall and about 170 pounds, whip-smart, handsome and athletic. However, you're right about autism being discovered in older men's boy batter.
