What do you call a well-off sibling who keeps judging your lifestyle?

I have a married sister who is married toa family judge in town. He earns good money. My sister earns less but I believe she is ok. My sister and her husband does not have kids on their own so the money spent is for them and the house and the perks they want to invest. They live in a nice one story floor house, well decorated. My sister and her husband enjoy taking trips to other countries each end of the year, I mean literally each end of the year. They both have nice cars, 2025 models. Anyway my sister alwasys complain and question that me and my brotehr do nto do good maintenance in teh house. Well our house is very old and even if we are aware of that, is not we can spend money on house maintenance often, if we do is when we believe we can afford it and have enough money for that, so for us it goes slowly and it ca take years for that. For my sister is the opposite if in her house they need maintenance, they do it right away. My sister pretend we are like her, that we have enough money to fix thigns as fast as we can, like she and her husband does. So my sister always complain to us about that. That we have to fix this and that and this and that. But instead of complaining so then she should help a little then, by helping with some money if she wants us to work as quickly as she doesin her house, instead of questioning and complaing to us each time. Complain is easy when she is not in our shoes and when in her house things are different.

Whenever she complains about your house ask her to pay for it then.

Her: Why won’t you fix the roof?

You: Will you pay for it? Because I’ll call the roof company right now if you’ll pay.

Do this every single time she complains and eventually she’ll probably stop. And you should point out how rude she is making comments about other peoples homes.

Your sister isn’t wrong for wanting things maintained… but she is wrong for assuming you can operate at her pace, with her budget, and her lifestyle. That’s not a fair comparison.

It's so frustrating when family members forget that not everyone has the same financial situation If she's not going to help pitch in, the least she can do is keep the unsolicited advice to herself
