Do you ever feel like you are the unwanted sibling?

All of my siblings are older. I remember as a kid, they told me we were all going bowling, but instead they took me to Nan's home and left me there while they went bowling. Anytime I asked if I could join what they were doing, they told me to go away. As I got older, especially when I fell pregnant, my sisters left me with no photos of the birth of my baby, and one of them also robbed me of cutting the umbilical cord before she laughed about it. This same sister went and made false claims to CPs, trying to have my baby taken from me, but I proved the claims were false, and the very moment I stood up for myself, I got verbally attacked by my other siblings. No, but I see it sometimes in sibling sets and I can't imagine feeling like that in a family when you're supposed to feel like a family where everyone is loved. A lot of people with crappy situations, work that much harder when they have their own families to never let them feel like that and to give them the life that they never had.

I feel like going through this experience has left me filling nothing but hatred and anger and I have found myself lashing out at people. I snapped at my dad and lost my cool and I found out almost 24 hours later that he was taken to the hospital not even 2 hours after I snapped at him. My dad didn’t do anything other than be forgetful and forget to tell me about something but his forgetfulness is not his fault. I just selfishly forget how forgetful he is because of how sleep deprived I have been with getting little sleep having a baby. I feel like the whole being the unwanted sibling and feeling like I was also the unwanted child has messed me up in a negative way.

Take this to heart, you most likely need to talk to a professional, and then potentially with that professional, to your family. Holding all that in, as you've experienced, is not helping, it's just making you more angry, and that anger is not just going to go away. This is also compounded by sleep deprivation because that is a whole other issue by itself that you're already dealing with. Seek some help because you can't help others if you're not helping yourself first.

I'm sorry you went through this 😔 My brother felt like he was the unwanted child he's in-between me and my little sister. We always picked on him constantly teasing him. My sister and would beat him up. It's not something that I'm proud of having done. We all get along great now.

Nah I got it even better. I was the unwanted child lol. But my parents loss I took my wife's last name so family name will end with us because my brother is gay and not going to adopt or have kids to pass the name too. My parents also have only met their grand children once. Well 1 of them they don't know about the other 2

I felt like the unwanted child at times as well. I remember the times I got punished just because I was depressed and didn’t feel like talking to my mum or anyone. Had my bedroom door taken off as punishment for not talking. This all while I sat back watching my sister who was 16 at the time being allowed to have her boyfriend live with us and seeing her going to the doctor to have a pregnancy blood test done. Come to think of it. I’ve been unwanted everywhere I have gone.

You are very lucky to have been able to keep 2 of your children hidden from them. I wish I was able to have keep my baby hidden from my siblings

they are just mean. that doesn't mean they wish you didn't exist. but parents who complain, that they buy extra food because of you, that showed unwanted.

One of them sent me a message telling me to kill myself and said she can’t wait to I am no longer around. I think that alone is clear as day her saying she doesn’t want me around

I was made because my parents were older and they didn't want my sister to be alone. I ended up looking after my parents and my sister and I hardly speak. Planning children for the sake of others is pretty sh*tty.

I personally have no idea why I was even born. My parents already had 4 kids before having me and I was made aware every chance given that I am not wanted around. They are even taking their hatred for me out on my 1 year old baby.

I was happy to care for them, it's the dementia that was unwanted. It turns a person into a polar opposite.

That's isn't right. Have you considered cutting them out if they are that extreme?

I cut them off a year ago just days after giving birth. I truly should have done it years ago.

No, I'm definitely the favourite child out of the family. Not in terms of love, but personal compatibility. My parents just prefer to be around me over my brother, since he's more of a strong and silent type, which doesn't jive with my eccentric family

I always knew that, and it was confirmed at the age of 12. I only saw my parents, brother, and sister one more time after that. Furthermore, I don't even know where they live now or if they are even alive.
