Were you allowed to play with dolls or “feminine” toys as a kid?

I was not allowed to entertain anything that was seen as feminine. I wanted an easy bake oven when i was a kid, so I could make food for myself since I wasn't allowed to cook anything on the stove. My dad thought I was gay, he still brings it up to this day. I never played with dolls of any kind, or did anything that could be seen as feminine. I knew better in that house.

I wasn't forbidden from doing anything. I had one sibling, a younger sister, and the two of us would play with her stuff sometimes.

My parents didn't worry about me, though, because I liked dinosaurs, sports, model airplanes and cars, toy guns, and boy's stuff. I was kind of a rough and tumble dare devil, too.
And, beginning in kindergarten, I always had a crush on some girl in school, even though I knew nothing about sexuality until I reached middle school. I just liked girls..

I was very manly, so that had nothing to do with it. Just because I wanted to cook food for myself didn't mean I wanted spend my life as a girl in the kitchen, it simply meant I was hungry and wanted to be self sufficient, which in itself is a masculine trait. You still would've been beaten in my house, until you were guided into the narrow road that my dad wanted.

I was beaten for playing with fire. I am a knife collector, I have loved knives since i was 7 when I got my first one.

I was four... when I "found" my first carving knife, lol

I knew where the knives were in my house, I didn't appreciate the knife until our family went to Montana to visit my dad's friend and I was able to shoot guns and use a knife for an actual purpose of cutting into flesh. skinning animals.

Nice try. After a short time I lost interest.

LEGO was more inspiring.

Didn't have much inclination towards feminine toys but didn't have much in the way of masculine toys.

the point was, I was beaten for something that had nothing to do appropriate behavior. It only had to do with control.
