Why would she invite me to meet her parents if she's not interested?

I have known this girl for about a year and a half. I took her out a dozen times a year ago - we went to New Year's, Valentine's Day, and other events. We've only ever kissed. She told me that she thinks I'm good looking (which could be a lie) and wishes she liked me - but was into this other guy (who is a total looser - and I am not saying that out of jealousy, he is). I was very polite - told her that I thought we should just move on and that I thought she was a super person, but should just move ahead with her love if she's not intereted.

Now...6 months later...she's initiated contact with me...after her doing this several times, I've capitulated and taken her out - twice. Nothing physical happened - or even flirty.

Then...she invited me to a basketball game with her parents. I went...they were great. Great family.

However, I still get no warmth/affection from her.

I am starting to wonder almost if there isn't something wrong with her. Why would she coorespond with me - initiate conversation and suggest getting together, agree to get together...and then take it a big step further by asking me out to meet her parents...all if she's not intereted? What's her motivation? It doesn't make any sense to me.

It sounds like she is trying to settle for you, she isn't really interested in you, but she knows you are a good catch. She probably invited you to meet her parents to convince you(or herself) that she's interested in you, or she just wanted a date, or maybe she wanted to see how you interacted with her family. But, she can't fake how she feels, so it's natural for her not to show you any affection. I could be wrong man, there could be a multitude of reasons that she's acting indifferent, maybe she has hard time trusting men, or want to take things slow or maybe she feels you're not showing her enough affection, like I said there could be a lot of reasons. Talk to her and tell her how you feel, or let her actions do the talking, if she's still holding back then you might be wasting your time with her.

To me it seems like she wanted you there in case it didn't work out with this guy you called a "loser" My guess is she no longer has this "loser" as you call it and maybe wants the attention, or missed the attention you gave her thus you came back in the picture 6 months later. Depending on her age maybe she is getting flack from family about having a boyfriend or when she is going to marry someone or bring someone home, so she suddenly lets you meet the family. This to me sounds like she only is looking out for herself and what she wants, not really caring about if she hurts you or not. You deserve better, find someone that wants to be with you for the right reasons. Good luck!
