She flirts and shows interest but says I'm a friend?

Usually I know when I've been friend zoned but not in this case.

This girl texts me first everyday, we flirt and I don't treat her like a friend at all. But then I said something like "yeah OK 'friend ;)"

Then she replies with "lol what you implying Mr xx I'm sure there are better girls than me best keep me as a friend"

Does she like me more than a friend because she says it but doesn't in anyway act like we're just friends. I'm lost...

Girls can be weird as all get out, But there's a reasoning for most of their actions you just have to decipher it. Problem is it's usually an emotional reasoning which can be harder to interpret.

Lets say a girl is friendly to you, says everything you want to hear you get close and assume you're in a relationship with her only to tell you she's always considered you a good friend. She has accepted you as a close part of her life she does like you but she keeps you from getting to that last step because maybe she feels that way about another guy or 3 or 4, she doesn't want to make the wrong choice and pick the wrong guy to give the go ahead too, that or she doesn't feel she deserves that last step because of a perceived failing in herself. She might be saying things that make you feel like she wants more but then she's constantly reminding herself back off from it before she does something she'll regret.

Best to just accept that she's probably in conflict with herself emotionally and hasn't made a choice. Be friends with her keep her close and be there for her if and when she makes that choice unless you find someone else in the meantime.

Does she talk about or compliment other guys to you, does she mention her dates and "alone time' with other guys? If she doesn't, then it's a good chance that she likes you. Do you give her the impression that you're interested in being something more than friends with her(do you take her out, compliment her, or tell her how fine you think she is? Try being more obvious to her about how you feel(through your actions), if she responds well, then ask her out.

I've done that. Not said something as loserish as that lol but made it clear I like her. She knows I do. I think she might just be playing with me

Oh. :/ Well in that case, she's just a natural flirt but isn't interested in you any more than a friend but is afraid to go and straight out and say it.

Im sorry Hun, no I can't think of anyway of knowing what her true intentions are. I guess the only thing would be to ask her out, I'm assuming you haven't done this yet. Take it up a notch and ask her out. If she still says you are just friends then maybe Spirit is right. But just speculation.

I have asked her out and it turned into a big argument because she goes to university in a couple of months so I don't think she wants anything serious. I wasn't after anything serious either. But now we are flirting and everything like it was before. This is one strange girl who I can't work out

This happens to me all the time and I don't realize it until I'm completely friend zoned! just mess with her some and don't reply to every text. Ask her out soon before she looses interest!
