When a guy waits to hold the door open for a girl?

My friend thinks that this guy likes me from other signals we have noticed. Today me and my friend were walking down a hallway and he was a long way ahead of us. There was a curve in the hallway so he didn't see whether or not we were coming that way. He was standing there holding the door for a good 7 seconds before we got there. My friend claimed it was for me.. but is this some sort of a sign in any way? Honestly he did not need to hold the door since I was far away I don't think anyone else would have done that. So is he taking the extra step to be polite to me or am I over thinking it?

While it could be that he likes you...it also could be that he's just one of those people who holds the door open for someone if they're close by. If I see someone that's really close, I'll hold it open but if they're like, miles away, then no, of course not

Idk its kind of hard to tell if he likes you by just one action.

At my school, people hold the door for me and I hold the door for them. Its just polite.

Quite a few guys have done that for me at school. I think it's just a nice gesture, so just thank them and try not to over think it.
