Why does he never talk to me first?

so there is this guy at my school. he stares at me a looot, and when I'm not around my friend says he searches for me. all his friends act strange when I'm around. he even asked me out, and I told him we can arrange a date whenever we are free. it seems like he s really interested in me, but when it comes to talking, he never talks first. is he shy, or just not that into me?

My friend has the same problem, like he can text her and talk to her on twitter...but face to face conversations are difficult for him. We've concluded that he's just a shy guy and yes, my friend has had to put a little more effort into it. If you like him, don't be scared to make a little bit more effort, this may be the thing to boost his confidence and he'll open up a bit more. But, I definitely say he's into you :)

He's probably nervous, or introverted. I can get the same way, it just takes some more familiarity with you for him to open up and start talking first.

i texted him on Facebook, but he didn't reply. I know he saw it, because you know how Facebook works. what should I do? should I write something like: if you don't want to talk to me, you can just say it. at list be kind enough to answer.

It seems that he's quite shy, though you can gauge that he's really interested in you as well.
