She is mean to everyone else except me. If I am talking and her friend interrupts, she says “shut the f… up. What were you saying hun?”

If I am talking, she basically roasts and scolds her friends if they interrupt me.

This includes all couples from LGBTQ wether they are trans, lesbian or gay or whatever.

Or because they're old and just require someone to assist them?

My dad somehow sprained his ankle last night and i had to drive him everywhere today. even helping him out of the car to stand up. I don't mind doing this of course but it is a little sad seeing him basically deteriorate over time. thats old age for you.

The picture shows the classic group of school-age kids waiting for the bus in the rain. They're all wearing rain gear and one or two parents are with them, a few holding umbrellas.

A recent trend is for parents to drive their kids to the bus stop when it rains (some even when it's not raining) so the kids can wait in the nice warm dry car. This results in long lines of cars idling along the side of the road for several minutes, until the bus comes. This, of course, makes it difficult (and unsafe) for other cars on the road to pass them.

What do you think? Is it okay for kids to stand in the rain, or should they be coddled by waiting in the car?

To me (rather indirectly), my brother (who is not even a teenager yet) has already showed signs that he is "in the closet." He denied being gay, but his hidden emotions and outright behaviors (according to both himself and his friends) have clearly shown otherwise. They're all trying so hard to hide it from his dad.

My brother may not be gay, but he sure isn't straight like I am. My mom said one year ago, she expects both of us to have babies with our wives. My stepdad is prejudiced (usually doesn't like his kid hearing about LGBTQ+, Black History, or issues related to such), but thank God he is not outright homophobic or racist (i. e., doesn't teach him stuff like "[these people] will burn in Hell" or "[those people] are subhuman/animals"). That said, my brother does use slurs sometimes; though I don't think he gets them exactly from his dad (my stepdad used to call his friends the n-word though; but he stopped doing that for some reason... like a long time ago).

I'm in deep fear that my younger brother will become a "spiritual successor" to Christian Walker.

It's a really weird conclusion, but politics and behaviors do often correlate. I wrote to my dad on Facebook everything that I wrote in my "first" post on here and all he did was reply to me with a black man shooting his shot basketball GIF and saying have a great day and that he loves me... Empathetic gaslighting much?

Sometimes my dad is more of a deadbeat than my stepdad. But he doesn't act as blunt most of the time. He was very blunt when I was a kid and sometimes strict, but I don't think he was on the same level as my stepdad.

Why doesn't my bio-dad take me seriously when I tell him the behaviors of my mom and stepdad?

Would you. . .

• Go along with it and pretend to agree to avoid a confrontation?
• Stay quiet and not do anything at all?
• Confront them about it, but try to keep it hidden that you are personally involved?
• Tell them flat out that you are one of those people and force them to backtrack or confront you about it?
• Walk away and/or cut contact with them immediately with no explanation?

So lets say you work somewhere and a male customer starts casually talking to you and says something like ‘oh me and my husband went out to that restaurant the other day. It was delicious.’ You didn’t know he was gay before he said this.

would you flinch? Any reaction from you at all to that?

i remember working with this woman who was a lesbian and she just casually mentioned her wife to this truck driver and he definitely took notice and asked her to say it again as if he didn’t hear her lol. Anyways it just makes me wonder if people make mental notes like this when it’s casually mentioned like a straight person would.

You might find out your kid is dying. But then be able to scrap the rest and have a great final two years.

I enjoy both depending on the person/situation. Whether male or female friends. I find it weird some people find hanging out one on one with friends is weird, particularly two guys or a guy and a girl. Like I've always done that... I'm a straight male but there's only been two female friends I've been attracted to (and I've had a few).

My older brother is lazy and entitled and broke. He refuses to get a proper job or take responsibility for his adult life. He claims he has a disability but he refuses to try to get disability payments. He’s argued with me many times and can’t see that he is to blame for his own situation. He wants me to look after him his whole life. If I ever have the money to buy him a house, should I? Do I have an obligation to help him even tho he refuses to take even small steps to help himself? What do you think? He refuses to take any steps to help himself. Should I help him? If I don’t he won’t have anywhere to live if I moved out

This question is for mothers, but others can chime in too.

The financial reality for most families with children today is that both parents need to work to remain financially stable. My perception has always been that most mothers want to work and would prefer not to be home full time with their children. But a Gallop poll actually showed the opposite, that a majority of mothers, whether employed or not, actually would prefer to be home with their children if they could afford it.

I'm curious how the mothers of GAG feel. Please share your opinions.

Had a boyhood friend, that I 'grew up" with that was the biggest money grubbing SOB you could ever imagine, and took every opportunity to make certain that 'some one else' paid for 'gas, or anything else involved in a 'night out", including any 'gaming' machine costs, pool table cost etc.

We had a mutual 'acquaintance' whose family was an 'heir' to the Saalfield Publishing Company, fortune, in Akron, Ohio, in that he got a monthly check from the estate of the Saalfield family fortune, and my 'friend' knew that and would go out on a Friday or Saturday night, drinking and partying on 'our friend's" money, and never offered to pay a dime.

I wised up to this 'sponge', quickly, and learned to see that he paid his SHARE of whatever we spent on a 'night out' with the 'boys', but it seems the other guy was somewhat lonely, and had few friends and allowed this unscrupulous jerk to 'leach' off of him.

On the flip side, I had a work associate here in California, that was from Pakistan, and he was the absolute antithesis of my 'sponge' boyhood friend, and this man refused to let me pay when we went out to lunch, during our work time.

Have you ever had a so-called-sponge "friend' like I describe above, and if so how did you handle it? Did you just shut him off as a "party person" or just 'dump; him as a friend, or did you find a way to make him pay up when he/she should have?
