They're more comfortable...

They're better if you actually plan to swim...

There's a much slimmer chance of something popping out...

They're made to have a much more structurally sound bust support than the two piece swimsuits...

They're much more versatile...

They actually look and feel more formal.

One piece is always the best bet if any measure of actual water activity is expected. You can dive in or get hit by a big wave without having things pulled off (or a bra cup pulled out of position and revealing your nipple to everyone and not even realizing it. Similar advantages if you decide to play some volleyball or whatever on the beach. A bikini is great for lounging or taking a simply dip in a pool, and you do get a lot more tan action. But a day at the beach? Or a pool party? One piece is the way to go. And don't worry, guys will hit on you just as much when you are wearing a one piece -- and usually they are actually nicer guys than when you are wearing a bikini.

They are certainly good for clothed competitive swimming, but there is nothing on earth to beat the sheer sensuality and comfort of full skinny dipping.
I can understand the decorative benefits of swimwear, but nothing beats nude swimming.

I absolutely love the feel and look of a womans one piece swimsuit. I currently have 8 one piece swimsuits. 3 of them where gifts from my wife. Hahaha You can definitely still wear these... I'm always under the impression that those who are on the beach just to tan and frolic a bit in the water wear bikinis and the ones there to swim usually wear one piece swimwear. xD

These picture above are fine. You can also wear a two piece swimwear. Some place allows girls and women not to wear upper part swimwear. Just the bottom part.
