1. Big Bust

If you have a big bust, looking for a supportive suit should be number 1, 2, 3, 4, and 5 on your priority list. You don't want your girls taking a hike and going in different directions, or spilling out of your suit, or bouncing up into your chin. Look for halter top, racerback, sports bra and thick strap styles with cups built in. Style wise, adding extra bulk or volume, like that of a ruffle onto an already big chest, is only going to make it appear bigger rather than minimize it if that is your goal. Things like illusion patterns, or wearing a darker color on top, can visually help minimize the look of a big bust.

2. Small Bust

If your goal is to get a more proportionate look, especially if you naturally have larger hips and thighs and a small bust, unlike the big bust persons, you do want to add bulk up top. Look for swim tops with ruffles, fringe, turtle neck suits, bra tops with cutlets or other enhancers built in, and play with pattern. You want to add nice wide horizontal stripes or a bolder polka dot on your bust rather then a tiny teeny pattern because it will give the illusion that you have more up top. If you go for a micro, or string bikini, your top is going to look smaller due to less fabric which will call more attention to a small top being small.

3. A Tummy/Hips

If you have no desire to sport a beach cover up all day long, nor should you have to, look for suits that skim away from the body or high waisted suits with control tops to suck you in. Illusion suits work great for darting the eye from place to place so the focus isn't on your belly. You can also wear a cute little skirt suit or peplum style.

4. Sun Coverage, Modest, or Conservative

Maybe you don't personally want to show it all off on the beach or your religion prohibits it, but you don't want to miss out on a beach day. There are suits for you that offer up a bit more cover up for your chest or lower half to full and complete coverage (also works if your skin is super sensitive to the sun). Unlike just a cover up, these are suits that mirror clothing, but are made of swimsuit material.

5. Boy/Square Shaped Bod

If you have no such waist to speak of and your shoulder width is basically the same width as your hips, finding a suit that gives you a more girly curved or hourglass shape can be a pain. Go for suits that create the illusion of you having more of a shape that isn't on the square side, in the pattern and construction of the suit. You want to quite literally draw lines on your body where your bust will go in in a rounded shape, and then your waist will be darted in, and then your hips will flare out. Look for strategic details like lines on the suit that give this illusion or adding ties and fringe to your bottom to create shape. Widen your top half with an off the shoulder style with ties and other details like fringe on the arms and hips.
