When my mom and I watched Me Before You for girls night, one thing I loved about the main character Louisa Clark was her sense of style. And yes, I totally want my own bumblebee tights. I don't have a set style. One day, I look like Luna Lovegood and the next I can look like Morticia Addams. Almost all prints totally work, but there are some things you must keep in mind.

If you feel your outfit is too busy, break it up with a solid color.
The easiest way is to replace your solid color top with a print in that same color family. Like replacing a solid dark blue shirt with a dark blue polka dot shirt.
Keep fabrics in same color family. Like black and white stripes with black and white polka dots. Colors of the patterns dont have to be the exact same color, but they have to be in the same color family or theme.

Mix the colors of the fabrics not the prints themselves.
Make sure there's one colors that's consistent throughout your look. Like black and white plaid with black floral print.
Mixing print sizes. Like thick stripes with thin plaid. Or mix a busy print with something less busy.

Solid black print and leopard print go with everything.
The easiest way to add a third print is to add a fabric with a monochromatic or neutral color.

To start off small, the easiest patterns to mix are stripes, polka dots, and grid patterns.
If you want to wear the same patterns, invert the colors.
Neutral colors like beige, white, and grey go with everything. Black and white stripes are like the "neutral" of prints.

When in doubt, polka dots and stripes in the same color family always work, as long as the size of the prints are different.
You can always start small and mix colors instead of prints or wearing a neutral color with something that really pops. Here's a helpful guide on mixing colors.

Choose one color family or theme to be consistent throughout the outfit and another to dominate and be an accent.
Use the exact same pattern but in contrasting sizes.

Here's another helpful guide. When in doubt, just try it on. If you like it that's what matters.
