Sombre is a modernized version of the Ombre. It's a little softer, where you have a little more highlights going throughout the hair, it'll look more natural and you won't have the line of demarcation (where you can see the natural color clearly transitioning into the dyed parts of the hair).

If you want to try this at home you definitely can!

You'll have to watch more than a few Youtube videos before you actually go for it, though.

If you can find it - to reduce any kind of damage to your hair - go for a product that simultaneously lifts and deposits color so as to get the best results in the shortest amount of time.

Always dye the hair with the part that you'd wear the most.

it's a freestyle technique - and most people will choose to have the lighter pieces around the face to frame it and the further down you go - the lighter it should get.

You'll usually choose a section every 3 inches from where you finished the last one.

Do not feather too much around the roots - so as to make it look as natural as possible.

As you move up you'll need more and more highlights - to simulate the how the sun would lighten the hair.
