There are seemingly a lot of rules when it comes to fashion. Don't do this, don't wear that, be this size or have this body type for fashion, or you shouldn't be able to style this or that. The thing about fashion is a lot of the "rules" were made to be broken, and one icon that sums that up perfectly is Rihanna. She's not model tall, she doesn't have the typical bone straight model body, her look is unique, and yet, she has taken the fashion world by storm.
Rihanna literally wears everything including nothing! Now maybe if you're in some small Midwest Bible belt town, wearing nothing isn't an option for you, but there are a few important lessons to take from Rihanna's fearlessness when it comes to her style.
Lesson 1:
Wear what makes you happy. Everyone's going to have an opinion of what you should and should not wear, but the only person who decides ultimately what you can wear and what makes you happy is you.
Lesson 2:
Take a risk every once in a while. Wear a different color, wear something a bit shorter, wear something other people would never have thought you would wear. Mix it up. Sometimes just by trying something new an unexpected, you can find something you really like.
Lesson 3:
Have fun with your fashion. Don't take it so seriously all the time. When you're off on the weekend having fun with your friends, let your fashion be creative, funny, daring, crazy, or whatever. Life is too short to be so serious all the time.
Lesson 4:
Change up your look. Rihanna is a hair chameleon. The mood strikes her, and it's a new wig, a new cut, a new color, braids, curls, shaved head, you name it! If you haven't changed your look in 10 years, you may want to give something new a try even if it's just a temporary clip in.
