Yeah, Turkish people are generally darker but in Northern part you can see many European looking people.
And generally Kurdish people have really dark skin but I have really pale skin.
Also Immigrant Arabs in Turkey have dark skin.
In Turkey people have really mixed genes.

@nsyprkr Well, people generally have mixed genes no matter what. Sub-sahara Africa has the greatest genetic diversity on this planet. But that does not manifest in skin color differences.

I was just asking because while I was in Istanbul only briefly, I was in Anatalya for much longer. And me and my friend drove around the hills of the surrounding region and met villagers and townspeople.

Most were brown-skinned like me. My friend would technically qualify as "White" in America. But she isn't Turkish.

One thing I will add is this. I met some of the kindest people in my travels.

Turkish people are a mixture Arabic and Slavic and Central-Asian nomadic tribes of already mixed genetics. But generally speaking your average Turkish man has distinct semitic traits. These guys look like they are from Scandinavia and Spain.

Arabs are semitic turks are turanoid two very differet races one of them is from middle east one of them is from middle asia and siberia. I am turk I live in a city called bursa in the western side of turkey I made a dna test %75 of my dna comes from balkan only %14 middle eastern %4 turkic.
