It's called a tramp stamp. But I like them. I like all sorts of tattoos. That being said, I'm more of an entire back covered sort of person. Not the biggest fan of small inks.

Meh. I don't really care what people think. If I do ever get a small lower back tattoo, the only people who'd see it would be myself and my boyfriend. It would be just between him and I; something sexy that only we'd know about. I probably wouldn't even tell our future kids about it unless they saw it. The only concern I have is that it's - shocker - permanent. Not sure I want to be an inked 70-year-old.

Tattoos just grow in character with age. But from what you're telling me about your frame of mind, don't get it. You'll grow unhappy with it.

p. s. tramp stamps are hard to keep covered. People will catch a glimpse of it from time to time.

Yeah, that's why I'm hesitant. What I might do is get a friend to draw henna tattoos on me - they can look just as real, plus they fade in a couple of weeks so if I'm not thrilled with it I won't be stuck with it forever. If I love the henna back tattoo, I may get inked for real. We'll see...

Like all other tattoos, it's more about what they are and if they're well done. If it looks like your cousine did it with a home made ink gun in your basement then yeah, it's trashy and unattractive.

Ehh, I'm really not a fan of tattoos in general. I'd prefer a girl with a blank canvas but it's not a deal breaker. I wouldn't date a girl with a lot of tattoos but if it was just one or two that had personal meaning/significance then i wouldn't care. Yours doesn't look trashy but it's really cliche. I guess it's better than having a "live fast die young tattoo" I'd reject you on the spot if you had one of those ;)

Looking through the images, I cannot help thinking that virtually all are trashy. Just does not seem be the right area for a tattoo just above the bum :/

In a serious relationship, things like potential tattoos or any other kind of permanent changes to ones physical appearance should be discussed and considered. I feel it is each party's responsibility to do what they can within reason to stay attractive to their significant other. My girlfriend knows my stance on lower back tattoos, therefore her getting one be her giving a giant "fuck you" to my wishes.

The way I see it, if you're in a relationship, tattooing or piercing a mostly-hidden part of your body has no real bearing on anyone's life but your own.

I agree with that, and I probably wouldn't hold it against you if she got a tattoo and you left her because you didn't respect her anymore. But tell me something: assuming that's you in your picture, if your girlfriend asked you to shave off your beard and moustache and never grow them back because she absolutely hates facial hair, would you do it?

Here's the thing about facial hair- it's hair. It's something that can be done away with at the drop of a hat. Tattoos are permanent.
If she did hate my beard, I do feel that she's obligated to at least tolerate it for a certain time period. If it didn't grow on her, then yes, I would get rid of it.
Same situation as when my girlfriend wanted to dye her hair blonde a few years ago. I'm not usually a fan of blondes, but I dealt with her being blonde for 6 months or so. She wasn't a fan of it, and neither was I, so she dyed it back.

And fortunately, she loves my beard =]

They're big, cheap-looking, colourful... just a random design with no apparent meaning. A small heart or short saying that actually has meaning can be very cute.
