Honestly it's because spiked hair is 'fresh'. As in, guys spend lots of time spiking their hair with gel cause they want to attract the ladies, and it shows.
We all know douchebags have a over-inflated sense of self worth and obnoxious characteristics related to outward presentation, it's only normal for them to take their time on their looks and men with short hair can't really do anything with their hair but spike it. Because that's what all short-haired douchebags tend to do it's become sort of a stereotyped hairstyle. (Much like the Aryan hairstyle, or the Bieber hairstyle).
The spikes resemble hard and rough and they link it with your personality
That's my best guess at least
First time I'm coming to know about guys with spiked hair being considered douchebags! Or maybe you just happen to be surround by highly judgmental people.
