Why is having a flat stomach so attractive?

i've read somewhere that in the old days it was a sign a woman was a virgin because she have never gotten pregnant (otherwise, at least at that time, she would no longer have a flat stomach. Of course they still didn't have contraceptive methods and also preferred virgins. Or that was the explanation specialists had for the reason why flat stomachs are appealing on women. I prefer men with a flat stomach too though, so...).

Fat around the midsection is visceral fat, which means fatty tissue around the internal organs, very unhealthy. It means you are storing more fat than you are burning, hence your diet is unhealthy and lifestyle is sedentary. You do not want them for mates. They are lazier, won't live as long, have bad genes to pass on and can't run very fast from predators.

People generally prefer fit people over overweight or chubby people.

I like a little belly fat personally. For me, having a tighter physique often shows dedication and self control. Not saying it's true across the board.
