As long as you respect other cultures it is okay to borrow things. Learn something about the culture you are taking from. Even meet some people and get to know them.
lol, the culture that dreads came from is Jewish. The first mention of anyone with dreads, was Sampson. His not combing or cutting his hair, was a covenant with his God.
Fake dreads? why the hell would you get fake. If you want them just dont brush out your hair for a few months, wash it just dont brush.

That's not even how you get real dreads though? It's a lot more involved and you still have to separate your hair and back comb it. Plus I don't want it to be permanent. I enjoy changing my hair too much
I know a lot of people think avoiding cultural appropriation means policing self-expression, but I just think it sends the wrong message and is a bit insensitive.
If you have the option of having beautiful long silky hair it seems pretty odd that you would rather be gross and mat your hair together. That would be like a guy chopping off his shins so he can be 5’ tall. It just doesn’t make any sense. Be happy that you have the option to have beautiful hair and forget the dreads.
I do know that there are some sulky people who will accuse you of "black culture appropriation". Other than that, just go for it. I think you'll look good.
I think they're really cute/sexy, depending on how they wear it. Sometimes it can look like a fucking mess. Like with MoldyLocks that meme girl, but I'm normally very open to it.
As often as you want.. But, usually it's two weeks when you first get yo dreads.. And after the dreads are locked.. You can wash them as much as you want..

I did not specify which culture.
Funny how some of you are bothered by my opinion by the way.

I personally wouldn't.

Do what you like.. you don't need to please or prove other people.. prove to yourself. be confident.. for me it's ok..:)

Why not grow your hair out all long and pretty, get it cut stylishly, and then straighten it? I personally find dreadlocks super unattractive.
I don't think it matters. If you want dreads and can pull the look off then you do that. Don't worry about what anyone else has to say about it.
I hate dreads. Having fake dreads... Well whatever floats your boat. Don't you have to not wash your hair for some time to have dreads?
I mean well if you wanna go a "natural" route.. But, if you are treating dreads as a style, then you still wash yo hair when you ge them retwisted..
How often is that?

Go for it, do what makes you happy and screw what others think!
I'm as white as they come, and my hair naturally dreads if I don't keep after it constantly. How would they be fake?
Then they're not. But synthetic and wool dreads are a thing?
what can you do?
If it suits them then I like it. The girl in the photo looks really good with dreads.
I don't like deads but I wouldn't think anything of it. I don't see in what being White would do something.
White girls with fake dreads? Holy shit my face just cringed into an asshole lmao
Dreds just look disgusting to me. It just makes me think of dirt and stink. But to each their own.
bah it's ok... but it looks like her actual hair is all messed up now...
I call them shitlocks, cause that's exactly what they look like...
looks sexy though I might think she's a pothead, not that I have a problem with that
Well you do you. But I personally think dreads at horrible and look bad.
