When you wear thin shirts, the imprint from outside isn't as obvious. So it provides some support, but hard to see through clothes. It also lets you keep most of your natural shape. But that's just my experience.

Good point! I try not to wear them in cold weather unless it's under a sweater. Since it's so thin, it breathes well and helps regulate heat. In hot weather it's the same. Kinda how people wear tight, spandex clothes in winter for jogging?
