Are glasses and braces nerdy?

Question

I know in the past people with braces/glasses were considered nerds. I have both of those, so that's why I wanna know. Also, is "nerdy" a good thing?

Potentially to the first question and yes to the second. Glasses can be seen as nerdy or intelligent. Braces may be seen as nerdy or just a sign of corrective oral health procedures xD

In terms of whether or not nerdy is a good thing... yes I'd say it is. It's very attractive because it's sincere. Girls who seem focused on their look, on makeup and whatever other generic pretty girl things that are associated with pretty girls... all of those feel insincere. They feel kind of flaky and shallow so... yeah nerdy is a good thing :)

Its completely up to you how you name it.
Nerdy as individual is one who is very much into academics and slightly obsessed with certain subjects.
Glasses and braces are a necessity to some, so merely that don't add up to being nerdy, unless you are taking notes of the jocks and cheerleaders of the school.

Its just stereotypes. That doesn't mean its good or bad to be nerdy, but having those doesn't make u a nerd.

Dont worry about whether theyre "nerdy" or not. Glasses are cute and braces are gonna make your teeth look great. Focus on being you, instead of focusing on whether you're nerdy or not.

Nowadays you're an exception if you don't have/had braces so having those doesn't make you nerdy. It's generally accepted. I've never had glasses so I can't speak for those but I think the way you dress and act is going to make a bigger difference in the way people see you than glasses.

I have both two when I was a teenager. I was really fool thinking I was nerdy, because later I really understand that isn't important. So, if someone say the same to u, ignore them. You can't be definite for what u use!💪💪 People who love u, don't care about it

It's got that nerdy look, but being a nerd, geek or dork isn't a negative thing anymore as long as you don't show it into people's throats and are being an asshole about it. I think glasses and braces are cute and charming. I'd love to be able to rock glasses myself

Of course it is. I would neither call it a good thing nor a bad thing. It is just a look and it depends on the person whether it fits or not. by the way I also need glasses but I don't like them so I'm going to have a laser-op somewhere in the future.

I wear glasses as you can see, and I once wore braces. I've never been called needy for them, and some people even complimented me when I first got my glasses because I look better in them.

You are who you are, and if people judge you based on what you look like, that's up to them and it's not your job to change their mind, doing so would change who you are just to appeal to them.

Try and appreciate who you are and don't let stereotypes and other people wane you.
