Most of our jeans pockets are so tiny that we can't even fit our hands in them, some of them even have fake pockets (I still don't get why fake pockets exist) whereas men's jeans usually have big pockets where you can fit your phone, your wallet, your keys... So we either have to carry a bag or to put our phone in our back pockets which is really unsafe. We need bigger front pockets !
"So we either have to carry a bag" Right there you answered your own question. The fashion industry makes the clothing and purses are huge money makers in the fashion industry.
Men won't buy purses even if their pockets were too small, so it wouldn't make sense to reduce the size of their pockets. Women on the other hand simply cave in and buy a purse.
There isn't any other logical reason to have smaller pockets since the size of the pockets make 0 cosmetic difference on the outside. It is simply a money making scheme by the fashion industry.
This has been a gradual process over time with women's pockets getting increasingly smaller as time goes on. The deliberately slow pace of the change is to prevent people from catching on. Recently we have started getting fake pockets as the reduction in size has gone to the extreme. Yet not many people call out the fake pockets because women's pockets had already gotten to ridiculously small levels, to the point where they weren't really usable anyways.
If it makes you feel any better, it really isn't that hard to replace pockets on pants with bigger ones, as long as you are willing to put the effort into learning how.
If you put your jeans inside out, you will notice that pockets are just bags sewed onto holes on the inside of pants. All you need to do is remove the stitching from the small pockets and then sew bigger ones on.
That's not the only reason. For example it would be hard to put a pocket on a skirt, making purses more common.
That said if you hate it so much then you can buy men's jeans in your size. It's your choice to buy the jeans you do wear, hell, get a pair of mom jeans, pretty sure those had deeper pockets.
Better yet I found womens jeans with deep pockets. So maybe just google "womens jeans deep pockets"?
Mens jeans are too large for me even in the smaller sizes and those jeans with big pockets aren't long enough for me. That leaves me with a very few brands that produce longer jeans for women... without pockets
I don't know what size you are but you can find mens jeans in as low as 26inch waist, I know from being a skinny guy. So unless you're size 0 you can wear mens jeans. That said there are some online brands and suppliers that seem to have deeper pockets for women, though I admit its quite difficult to find. Because they know we always carry purses and also because they are usually low rise style and the pockets would go down our legs too far and because if we stuffed a bunch of stuff in them like the boys do it would make us look weird, especially if they are jean shorts. Anyway, that's my thoughts on it :)
Yeah should make same pocket size then men and women could wear same jeans without being judged. Some women jeans fit great would be nice to wear without looks haha
Ugh that's super annoying. I dont understand why womens clothes in general have small pockets or no pockets at all. Maybe because they expect us all to have bags/purses? Its why I wear mostly mens clothes anyways.
I think it’s because we have purses, so the fashion industry denies us pockets to make skinny jeans even skinnier, since we have a purse to carry everything. It’s annoying 😒

Yup same. I only carry with a wallet and my phone, but I need a bag for it cause my jeans have those stupid fake pockets that are just for decoration.. whats the freaking point of fake pockets
@23Lotus yeah, I'm on the smaller side of men's wear so I understand the struggle of finding anything below waist 30 in a store. That said you can get jeans down to a 26 inch waist online in mens for sure, which may fit you. There are also some brands and styles of womens jeans I found online that offer larger pockets.
Fashion dictates that women want smaller form fitting jeans and trousers. A better question is why do women now wear jeggings and yoga pants that show our buttcracks and underwear.
Bigger pockets won't change the form fitting nature of jeans, that's just not how pockets work. Men's skinny jeans still have big pockets. Fashion dictates that women's pockets be small so that the fashion industry can make more money on purses.
@Matthevv my grandmother described 70s jeans as worn so tight by women that it took an effort to squeeze into them and pliers had to be used yo do the jip
