Or should one just shave at this stage, like this? :

When you gets a bald spot on your head and has very thin hair, I think the best option would be shaving it all off with a razor and grow a full beard if you can grow one. If you've almost no head hair left, there's no point in keeping the rest. It won't look good. A beard makes most men look better and especially those one with either a weak jawline or a feminine face. It can make up for a bald head too and make you look healthier. A head without any hair, beard and that has very thin or light eyebrows and eyelashes doesn't look good.
Very short hair like picture 2 and that Pep Guardiola has is also okay. I don't think it looks good with any longer hair. Men with a horse shoe or monk kind of hairstyle doesn't look good.
This is an okay hair length for a bald person imho:
Buzzcut is nice on people who starts thinning, but still has hair left:
Beard is an advantage:
This is a no in my book:
This is the worst one:
you dont need to shave it... number 1 clipper setting looks much better and the time to cut your locks off is when your solar panel becomes obvious to others. i remember seeing a guy in a bar once who had long hair but it looked like he was a monk because he was so bald on top. i was about your age and thought i never want to look like that so thats when i bought the clippers.

My hairline started receding at 23. I still wore long hair, right up through my thirties. When I was early forties my bride was diagnosed with cancer, went through chemo, and lost all her hair. I cut my hair off to a buzz as moral support - we wore doo-rags together, she hated her wig. That was almost twenty years ago. Yes, she's still alive.
I don't care for a bare head, so I use a 1/4" guard on a clipper. That's a perfect crew-cut length, easy to keep up, and looks great with a balding head.
Comb-overs are just a non-starter. ;)
Do what YOU like, not what strangers (aka: dipshits) on the internet like. ;)
I think they do with the red shirt looks like the best haircut. The totally shiny guy is a bit too short, and the ones above are just a hair too long. No pun intended
Whether you should get a buzz cut depends entirely on the shape of your head/how you look like.
Most people look better balding than with their head shaved.
I have naturally thin hair, and fear I may go bald in the next years.
If it happens, I think I'm going to shave it all off.
At age 34 I cut my hair short. It was at this time I thought damn that's not coming back. So I shaved it and never looked back. Women be loving that confidence
I'd say just do close clipper if you've still got hair, like the first guy, the soccer player. Only go total shave when it's gotten less than that. Just my two cents. Good luck out there.
both 2nd and 3rd are fine, but maybe this guy could grow hair of normal length still, even though he is balding, he doesn't seem that far gone, in fact on proper haircut it could be almost unnoticeable.
When you can’t make it look like a Dwayne Johnson style anymore. lol
Closely trim it if suffering from excessive hair fall, hair thinking.
I don’t even wanna think about it
