Yes. When I was a little kid, I had a big afro. I wouldn't mind if my hypothetical kid grow his out.
My condition is: just let it grow out: No cornrows, no braids, DEFINITELY no relaxing... etc. Maybe dreads are OK. MAYBE.
Why? I don't want him to be mistaken for a girl, and be treated as such. Not that there is anything wrong with being a girl, it's just that he is not a girl.
I was born in Sudan, and in my culture, only men grow Afros, and only women braid or relax their hair.
Usually, only Sufi dervishes (all of whom are men) are the ones who grow dreads.
When he's all grown up, he can do whatever he wants. No longer my business.
Those kids look great.
It wouldn't really be all my decision. My goal would be to get the kid thinking critically and independantly as soon as physically possible. Before I even reigned in on the matter I hope to achieve the status where my little midget can look at himself and know how to present himself without looking like a fool.
If he was really obsessed with keeping it long then we’d try it, but he’d need to be willing to put in effort to keep it clean and tidy. If he can’t then it’s coming off
Honestly depends if he can take care of it or not. If my son just walks around with a knot the size of a golf ball there’s a problem.
If girls can, why not your son? Their brains absorbs knowledge faster.
Oh ok hehe. I count that as a no. Ofcourse they're kids. They know nothing.
I mean of course I would but it's my responsibility to prevent them from doing that. I still don't blame them but I don't force them to grow hair again. I just prefer them to grow hair.
But the odds of that happening is not as common as you think. Why do majority of female kids have long hair? I'll have to cut that off if I have no choice.
I wouldn't be against, as long as the child was comfortable that way 😊 I find these long haired angels very cute I suppose 😂
Thank you for MHO 😊

When the child is old enough to pick out clothes that match and look presentable, then I suppose it would be ok. Until then, their parents should set some limits on hairstyles. I'm almost sure a parent picked out the clothes for these kids. To me that means the kids are not mature enough to pick out their own hairstyle. And I think short hair is usually a safe bet for boys. So, if I had a son who was over the age of 9 or 10, I would let him grow his hair long.
Sure. My boyfriend's hair is down to his shoulderblades so we're not gonna have an issue if we have a son and he wants to grow his hair longer like his dad.
My son has gorgeous hair. I let him grow it long and told him it was his decision when to cut it. He went and got it cut for 8th grade graduation. He surprised us all.
I don't want kids, but if I did have a son, of course I would let him. In fact, he would most likely end up wanting to because kids tend to mimic their parents.
I don't see why not. Society has taken a turn towards accepting it recently. More girls with short hair, more guys with long hair.
Yeah, I’d want my kid to have a sense of self. If they want pink hair with polka dots, I’m game. It’s just hair.
Preferably no, but if he really wants to grow his hair like that, I would let him.
Why I don't prefer it is because he could be mistaken for a girl and he could get bullied. Also short medium hair is easier to keep clean and looks better.
Welp sure but about that bullying part. I pretty sure I can teach my child how to let people be open with long hair on men and to encourage them. But it's still his choice if he wants to cut it.
Well, I'm growing my hair out so it'd be pretty hypocritical of me if I didn't allow him to, but I don't want kids so that shouldn't ever happen.
If he wants to grow his hair, sure... I would let him.
People worry about the wrong fucking things... of course, I would. It's hair!
I want to let it grow fairly long before the first haircut, but not to the point where it becomes too much of a hassle. I never want to give my kids a buzz cut unless they ask for it.
Ya it’s fine. Lots do it
Not lots but the ones that want to do it sometimes. Eventually they cut it though. Just easier to manage
It’s cute for a bit ya
I’d let him if he wanted to maintain it.
I’d also recommend against it. The cool men with long hair you imagine you will look like... it doesn’t work when you’re a prepubescent boy.
I dont mind kids with long hair. But the thing is they are kids. Long hair is hard to maintain. They do look cute but That would be extra work for me.
No but only because it takes extra time to wash and take care of. Once they have reached an age where they can take care of their own hygiene they are free to grow out their hair. My boyfriend has had long hair since he was 14.
No because my little brother did that and everyone thought he was a girl.
Doesn't matter what everyone thinks. What's matters is how you chose to take it.
Fuck yeah, I grew mine long! If it wasn't for dad forcing crew cuts on me when I was a kid, it'd be a LONG longer, now!!!
As long as the kid is old enough to wash his own hair then fine by me but not until then LOL.
They looks good. I had log hairs when i was kid, they aren't that long though.
Sure, I see no reason why I wouldn't allow that.
You might not like it. Why ask?
Nah I buzz my kids. Maybe as teens I would allow it but not as kids
My families hair is far too curly, they would just get a jew-fro.
Yeah sure. I wouldn't encourage it but if that's what he wanted then hey I won't have to spend as much money on haircuts.
No his little ass is gonna drop, give me 60 and bring home a gold healthcare plan for retirement. Da ffuu
Yeah I see no problem. As long as he's not wearing a dress
Yes, not much wrong with it if it was styled correctly.
I was allowed to as long as I took care of it. Hair health is important
Nothing wrong with it i think its cute <3
Yah, why not? It looks super cute
My grandparents let my dad grow his hair out in the 70's. He's now married with children, but has much shorter hair. Losing it of course, as he's now 61
If that's how it makes him feel confident then yes
if he wanted long hair I would let him grow it out
YES YES YES

It's a way of self expression that hurts no one. Not offensive or vulgar.
Not really. I dont think its attractive. If they are 18 they can do what they want
What about if they're not 18 and wanna grow it?
Hmm goodluck with your rebellious child. Also FYI it's subjective to think it's good or bad.
"when he knows how ugly he's gonna look with it" Are you sure that's what he have in his mind? You think this is all about you and what you feel don't you?
No i'm not taking it will personally. I can point out what your personality and why would that be crossing that line that you feel the need to call me a snowflake? You realize how you sound right? That's right. A snowflake.
It is just like you're calling me a snowflake because you don't like what i'm saying. Now where does that lead to?
Well good for you but you know you should really be having self confidence about himself and not seeking for approval from you.
I didn't come here for your opinion but i came here because because of how you decide for him. How hard is it to just tell him that you don't like it? I mean it's your child's decision but what you're doing is forcing him not to just because you don't like it.
I'm not even forcing you to let your child grow his hair but i am concern about how you force your child not to grow his hair that is the problem. If he makes a decision that he doesn't wanna grow his hair then i don't mind because that is his decision. But if he chooses to even if i don't like, i'd say i would let him do it because i am not a narcissist parent.
My god. What kind of parent are you gonna be? It's just hair, why are you going to make your child feel like that? Feel like he's ugly and put him down because he wants or has long hair? That's pure stupidity and ignorance. I really don't like it when some people just prevent their children for expressing what they like. My mum is strict but she ain't even on that level. Chill girl
If he liked it like that, yeah.
Your hair is your identity.
Yes I would. Why not?
But I'd like to have girls.
Sure why not?
You might not like it but glad you do.
I would encourage it, even.
unless someone say No,
Hey rockstar have long hair.
I guess but not too long.
Sure why not
Sure why not
I don't see why not.
Yeah, sure.
Sure
It his head let him
Yes of course
You're annoying
Ok? If I'm annoying, why are still you following me?
No. Long hair is for woman not men.
Since when? When men were slaved and forced to cut their hair? So I guess Jesus is a woman if that's your notion.
Not if it was a boy
"Male kid" Can't you read? When is long hair for girls only?
since the last century
Indeed your factory era fantasy.
Where men were slaved and forced to cut their hair yea?
ohh god you're boring
Did I hurt your pride over facts that you need to calling names? That's not an argument. You don't like it, why heat it?
