Yeah. In fact, I believe she was homecoming queen during her senior year in high school and that's usually given to beautiful girls.

She was very attractive in "The Deer Hunter" not just because of being a beauty of 28ish when that movie was filmed, but her character of Linda was the real focus in a way. She represented all of womanhood that men crave in that film.

In this scene near the end of the movie, her fiancé, Nick, just died and this meal is the post-funeral meal. You may notice that, to her left, is actor John Cazale, famous as "Fredo" in "The Godfather" movies. In real life, he was her fiancé, but he was dying of cancer and died 9 months before the movie was released.
